Planning for Spring

Other than commenting on the incredible amount of snow now covering our landscape, there’s not a lot to report as far as our permaculture project.  This is the time of year to read and plan for the following year.  Some recommendations:

  •  ”Gaia’s Garden” by Toby Hemenway
  • Dave Jacke’s books, “Edible Forest Gardens”

This may also be a good time to research local zoning restrictions or pursuing changes in those restrictions.  Or you might like to research a way to divert grey water from house to garden.  It’s also a wonderful time to curl up with cocoa and seed catalogs.  And remember trees make wonderful and often affordable holiday gifts.

Near is the time when the days will once again grow longer; a reminder of the wonders seasons to come.  Wherever you are in your own projects, have a wonder-filled holiday season.
